A Ladder Strategy for Life Insurance

| October 03, 2018

Purchasing multiple term life insurance policies from different companies can prove to be a fiscally efficient strategy that works especially well if you’re able to predict when your coverage needs will diminish.

For example, instead of buying one 30-year, $1 million policy, you could buy three different policies, like this:

  • Policy One: 10-year, $500,000
  • Policy Two: 20-year, $300,000
  • Policy Three: 30-year, $200,000

This “ladder strategy” can save you money down the road when your coverage needs are reduced (for example, your debts are paid and your children grow up), and is a strategy to be considered in today’s life insurance environment.

How are you approaching your life insurance needs? If you have any questions or concerns, we’re always here to help. Feel free to call us to learn more about life insurance options.1
